Habits are great. After a habit is formed, you will not have to constantly remind yourself to perform the habit. That's a lot better than worrying about it all the time. Better yet, these habits will also carry over to other diseases after the COVID-19 outbreak.","‘Keep calm and wash your hands - optimising community hand hygiene interventions to combat COVID-19’ is an interactive platform that uses insights from behavioural science and health psychology to help improve handwashing habits."]},"mission":{"heading":"Our Mission","paragraph":"Iggy may grow into a platform that can customize interventions, which will help inform public policy about future hand washing engagement campaigns. Future plans include expanding to other platforms including Facebook, Whatsapp, providing an interface to the system directing on the website itself and additional languages including Mandarin Chinese, Hindustani, Spanish, Burmese, and Thai."}},"contribution":{"title":"How you help science?","contents":["Infectious diseases as a field is about how to effectively prevent the spread of diseases. There are many ways we could do this, from vaccination to quarantine. Each disease has its own challenges. Local authorities and experts have to decide on which method would best be used to contain and eliminate an outbreak.","But, how do we know which way works? Or that method is enough?","Because we cannot experiment on reality, scientists run computer simulations on what are called mathematical models. Mathematical models simulate what we know so far about the disease and how humans contact each other. From this information, we can run different scenarios and draw ideas on how to contain the outbreak.","Your data will help us make models about hand washing interventions.
